This Jacobean manor house sits in approximately 200 acres of land and was built and owned by the Hanbury family and has seen ownership and usage change from family home to boarding school and now a hotel and country club boasting a five star rating...
One can not help but stand back and just admire this gorgeous building and huge trees that frame your view of this building from the outset.
Every tree and bush seems different from the next and seem to reach to the heavens in this feast for the eyes. One would be very hard pushed to beat this mansion and grounds for impact and beauty...

Once you set foot inside and look around and upwards, you then feast your eyes upon all the dark woodworking and fine craftsmanship that has gone into the decor of the inside of this astonishing building.
We were greeted by a staff member and shown through into the drawing room, where we would be having our afternoon tea.
Once more seated beside an impressive fireplace, [which was thankfully not lit on this lovely August afternoon!].

Again, as one would expect of a hotel of this caliber, the food was excellent, and of a similar quality and choice to the other places that we have had afternoon tea at, so far.
Without further ado, our verdict is as follows:
Atmosphere and Surroundings 10/10
Service 8.5/10
Food 8/10
Value for money 8/10 (Approx £30 pp)
Would we go back again?
Of course!
