I hardly dare turn the teapot over to see the price, but was pleasantly surprised once I had, because it was only around the £13 mark!
Carefully I carried it to the counter to pay. I was so gleeful at my find, it was gorgeous and perfect in every way. I was like a child in a sweet shop!
Imagine how horrified I was, on getting home, when my other half pulled out the carriers from the car and I heard a gut wrenching crashing sound!!!
One could have cut the air with a chainsaw...And in fact I felt like cutting it with one too!
I placed the carrier bag on the work surface and took out the carefully wrapped tea pot.
I had expected to see the handle or spout broken off, but not so!
Amazingly it seemed completely in tact, but on closer examination, the handle had a slight airline crack at the bottom of the handle, close to where it fastens to the main teapot.
Relief, I didn't feel so despondent now, because I surmised that we could just get a good quality pottery glue and run some in the airline crack, which would allow me to use the teapot?
On gluing the handle crack, which was a couple of months back now, I am happy to report I am using the teapot on a regular basis and all seems to be fine....Watch this space, because I did by chance come across a replacement in a charity shop, should my favorite teapot give up the ghost, but that is another story!
Happy Days!
