Have you ever wondered what the difference is between Mr Kipling's Frech Fancies and the Aldi French Fancies?......Well, we have!
His Lordship & I were in conversation the other day and we thought that we would do a comparison of the two different sorts of French Fancies, because on the face of it, they look the same.
So I popped into Aldi to buy the “test box” of French Fancies, then we dropped in at the local Tesco to purchased a "test box" of Mr Kipling's French Fancies.
Like two spies on a secret mission, we made haste back to Bloomfield Manor to compare them.
The kettle was boiled and the tea made when we sat down with the two boxes and gleefully opened them.

I cut three Aldi French Fancies in half, (pink, yellow and brown) and the same with the Mr Kipling's Fancies.
We studied the boxes carefully, both ingredients and nutrition information, and I have to say that there was not much difference.
I weighed each colour of French Fancies and measured them with my trusty ruler. Both were exactly the same sorts of weights, some colours in both packets vary by a gram or two, but all looked the same with both sets of fancies.
Both sets of packaging was exactly the same, except for the print and colour on the Aldi box. Both sets of internal packaging (inner box and cellophane) was exactly the same shape and texture.

Next came the taste test. Undoubtedly the best part of the whole exercise!
We taste tested three colours from both boxes and the overall consensus was that they both tasted exactly the same!
So there you have it.
One big difference was the price, of course. The Aldi French Fancies were the least expensive by quite a long way.
If you want to do your own taste test, then simply do the same thing. I would be very interested to see what you think.
